More Digging

They're still digging the pool. And, the long trench in the pictures below is for all the piping to the filter, electrical, etc. Also, you'll see rock, and yes, that's solid rock about 6 in below the surface. They have to use the chisel to break it up and haul it off. I'll post a video sometime, it's super loud!!!

They've gotten pretty far. Although Saturday the weight of the truck driving over our very shallowly 'dug' (I use that term very loosely as we don't think it was actually dug but rather just laid under the sod) cable wire snapped in two places (on either side of the boards they put down for the truck to drive over). That means that all Saturday afternoon we had no tv, no phone, and no internet, yuck!!! Tom - the Cody Pools project manger set us up with a pipe to put the cable in and he had the guys dig a deeper trench to bury the cable and pipe in. They also put the connectors on the cable but didn't have an extra piece of cable to place between the connectors. Greg brought one out but it still wasn't working, so Sunday morning after church we were out in the yard trying to fix our cable, which we eventually did. We also let Ruger explore her back yard, on leash and very well supervised. She was much more cautious than Greg or I expected. Personally, I thought she'd just launch herself into the giant hole in our backyard, but nope, she didn't even want to climb down.
