Finished

So, I'm way behind in downloading pictures, but the pool was finished yesterday!!! We started adding water yesterday and are still filling it up tonight, but we're almost there now - just under the tile right now. I did my first 'brushing' of the pool, and Duke helped. He really likes the jet that flows out of the side of the pool and onto the top step. He just stood there and stared at it for a good 5 minutes. He's really liking the decking all around the pool too. He's very interested in the pool as well, and I actually think he'll be in there at some point in time this summer, possibly by accident, but hopefully becuase he wants to be. Ruger's been in the back on leash - she's too rough to trust her on the new sod off leash. The short leash outings to the back deck make her even more stir crazy. She wants her backyard back, bad! She's not too interested in the pool, but maybe that's becuase she's just too busy focusing on the yard that she's not yet allowed to use.

I'll post pictures soon.

Decking

It's poured, salted, and stained.

They did all that on Tuesday, Wednesday was a down day and today they're here regrading our yard. The deck has since dried and looks good, it gets cleaned up tomorrow. To be honest I thought it hadn't been stained yet, but was informed otherwise. It's darker than regular concrete - which could be bad because it could get really hot in the summer - guess we'll be hosing it off. Also, it's not a very different color than regular cement so maybe we should have just salted the plain old cement and saved ourselves some money. Guess if we ever do this again we've learned to go with beige type colors...I think. It does look really good with the tile though and also with the brick and stucco of our home.

Tile and Limestone

The tile and limestone coping part of the pool seemed to take forever and was fairly uneventful - guess that's a good thing. Especially after the first tile we picked out ended up being discontinued. We're really happy with the new tile we picked out - it might actually look better than what we originally chose. The framing for the decking is also up so we're getting closer. We've had quite a bit of rain as of late, so that's slowed the process down significantly. We have water in our pool! But it's gross and they're going to have to pump it before they can do anymore work with it.
