Happy First Birthday Ruger

Little Rugs is a year old today, I can't believe it! She's got some "ice cream" cake (pumpkin, yogurt, and a little bit of pineapple juice) in the freezer and it's going to get topped off with some peanut butter frosting! I'll post pics of that later, but in the mean time here are a few of her sporting her special first birthday hat!





Ruger didn't mind the hat at all, except for Duke constantly trying to take it off of her head!

She also has a new collar on it's way - fingers crossed it gets here today just in time for her birthday! And since Duke is a spoiled boy, he gets cake and as a party favor a new collar too :) Guess it pays to have siblings!

Memories

My sister and aunt came down to visit for the first time. We were kind of wondering if Duke would remember Kristen, since he hasn't seen her in a year, and what he would act like. We honestly didn't really think it would be any different, but we were wrong.

When Duke saw Kristen, he stopped, looked, then turned his head away and looked again - like a person doing a double take. Then he went crazy! He was so excited to see her and from there on out he followed her everywhere and even slept upstairs in her bed with her.

It was great to see him so happy to see his Kristen and it was really neat how obvious it was that he remembered her and was ecstatic to see her again.
