Duke had to go back to the vet today. He started oozing/bleeding and it was obvious the single area that it was coming from. They had warned us at the beginning that there might be some drainage, but there had been none up until yesterday. When I called the vet they said to bring him in because drainage this late is definitely not normal. He was very happy to be there and get all of the attention, the girls were loving it too. :)
It was a good thing we brought him back in because he's starting to get an infection and has an (i believe this is what the vet called it) adema. Where the fluid is filling in one section. It's usually caused by too much activity, but Duke has been kenneled our cuddling and goes out to go potty, that's about it. The vet said that with Duke, it's right between his legs so it could be getting rubbed by the legs causing it. He also saw Duke lay down and the way he's doing it it could definitely be part of the reason too. He's sitting on his hip and then kind of rolling and then laying down. Dr. Daigle cleaned it up some and told me to put neosporin on it and gave us more antibiotics to keep Duke on and we are now supposed to give them 2x a day instead of just in the morning.

Duke's Home
I picked Duke up around 6:30 and he was happy to see me, but you could tell he was hurting. He was very cooperative and helped me help him into the car. When we got home he wasn't so sure about the 'steps' I made for him, and there were lots of distractions, but once I took his cone off he walked down them and it went well. He's been wanting to cuddle a lot with me tonight, he tried cuddling with the vet tech when she knelt down to show me something too. Since we've been home he's drank a little water and eaten two times 1/4 cup each time.
Ruger has been crated most of the evening because she's super excited to have her brother home. She's not very happy about being in there, she's full of energy. She had the whole day with me and we even went shopping. She's also been getting lots of special treats, so she's doing just fine.

Duke's Neuter
Today was the big day for the guy - neuter, scrotal ablation, and stomach tack. He was a huge goofball this morning at the vet, barking and talking to all the girls at the office. He was a very happy boy, lets hope he's still happy, but a little calmer when I pick him up. Heard from the vet just before 1:00 that everything went great. Duke's pre-op blood work was fantastic and his spleen looked fine so we didn't have to take that out. He's not going to be a very happy guy with the e-collar - he HATES that thing. Hopefully he won't have to wear it too much. I think keeping Duke quiet will be harder on Ruger than it will be on Duke! :)
