Piper's Home

I picked Piper up a little after 7 tonight. She is a happy girl and was very excited to see me. In fact, she almost came out of her kennel all by herself, but they had some zip ties that she didn't feel like stepping on, so I helped her out. Her tail is almost always wagging and she is very vocal! I brought some dry food with in a treat pouch for her when I picked her up, and apparently I wasn't feeding her quickly enough so she shoved her whole head into the treat pouch and scarfed it up! :) Then, when it was all gone she proceeded to howl and make it known that she was not happy about not having any more food while I was on the phone with Chuck and Pam letting them know that she made it safely. We all had a good laugh.

I really can't get over how much she looks like her Dad, Nick. The resemblance is amazing!

When we got home Piper enjoyed exploring the house and meeting Ruger and Duke while Ruger was in her kennel and Duke was behind our bedroom door. She's been outside a few times and while she likes to stay right under my feet, she has been quite successful during her outings. She scarfed down her dinner too. This girl loves to eat!

After she ate, went out, and we cuddled a little, I put her in her kennel and let Duke and Ruger out to 'meet' her. Duke at first ran right past the kennel, but then he came back around to see what it was that Ruger was so interested in. During that time I fed the big dogs and emptied the car and cleaned out her kennel from the plane ride. It actually worked out really well to have Ruger's old kennel from flying down so that Piper could ride home in a nice, clean, padded kennel. She's way too big for the carrying case we bought for our soon to be Vizsla puppy. I was sort of hoping I could tote her around in that for a little bit, but it's definitely not going to happen!

I did have all three together for awhile, but held Piper the whole time. She was a little overwhelmed with Duke and Ruger. I don't blame her! Ruger LOVES her and has to be close and likes to lick her. Duke was being silly. He kept picking up toys and throwing them around for himself, and he did a lot of barking. Guess he's trying to tell her he's the cool, fun Uncle?!?! ;)

She's sleeping right now all sprawled out in her kennel, upside down of course. I don't think she's even going to fit in that for too much longer, maybe another week? I'm planning on putting Duke and Ruger in the bedroom in a little bit and taking her out to potty and then hang out.

Here's all the photos I've been able to get so far. She wants to always be close and cuddling so it doesn't make it super easy to get a lot of good photos. When Greg gets home we'll be able to get a lot more!

Ruger so excited for her baby sister!
Piper

I actually began writing this post quite awhile ago, but Ms. Piper commanded my attention. She needed to go out, then play and currently she's "helping" me type. I think she's starting even younger than Ruggie! ;) Guess she likes our new Mac. By the way she's already tried getting on the couch by herself. She didn't make it, but it sure won't be long.

I also have to add that I have no clue when we last had rain and it was a gorgeous day today, and tonight, our first night of potty training...THUNDERSTORM. Hasn't phased her at all, she even peed and pooped outside in it. We've been going out under the big golf umbrella. She's not phased by that either! She seems to have such a great, outgoing, friendly personality
